		<description>So true Daniel, making emotional assumptions about the cause of a situation and then assigning blame (or motive) to God as if having some sort of deep wisdom about the situation tells you something about a person, that&#039;s for sure. Besides, it&#039;s not what happens, it&#039;s how we respond that matters.</description>

One of your points jumped out at me: &lt;em&gt;bad things happen to good people.&lt;/em&gt; I think this statement has become so loaded because of the religious context of it -- &quot;He was a good person! Why did God let him down?&quot; I think this is a mistake in attributing some kind of personally-directed judgement in events like this. Yes, events can be traumatic and pain is a very real thing, but for all we know on the cosmic scale a &quot;bad&quot; event could be the best thing that could have happened to us.

That&#039;s &lt;em&gt;my&lt;/em&gt; faith, anyway.
