I can't maintain meaningful relationships, it's difficult to concentrate with the chronic pain making people think I am A. Slow and B. Creepy. I have met good doctors and bad doctors and have thought of ways they could improve, but then I realized. Who would ever take upon themselves the extra effort and honesty of a doctor who goes the extra mile and who doesn't charge out the nose if they can't set health goals and timelines for you? Personal sacrifice, which can be of various forms, is not high on the list of societal values today.
