No one can function very well for very long without a good night’s sleep.  Sure, you may drag yourself to work or otherwise fulfill your daily obligations, but your mind and body will suffer in the long run.

Everything you do has a dominant brain wave frequency associated with it. When you are in a state of relaxation your brain waves have a certain frequency. When you are awake and alert they have a totally different frequency.

I suffered with insomnia for quite a while. It was due to stress at work, and a lot of stress with my partner, who I am not with any more. I tried several remedies, but none of them really worked,. It was only when i sorted out my problems that my insomnia went away.

Hi Tum, stress not only robs us of our sleep, but also our health. It is estimated that 80-90% of all disease is stress related. Sorting out the situations that contribute to stress can be pretty challenging, congratulations on your success.

This is very helpful thanks for the links. I really believe many people need to “trick” their brains into falling asleep.

And I don’t know why so many Americans have insomnia and more every day. Must be a combination of our stressful culture of keeping up with the Joneses and stuff like that.

I have suffered from insomnia off and on for quite some time. I took sleeping pills when it was really bad but they left me feeling lethargic and irritable in the morning.
