Fear - The Motivation Destroyer

Has fear ever gotten the best of your motivation? When this happens it can be very frustrating and disappointing. No motivation means little or no action. The end result is likely to be that another goal falls by the wayside.

No matter how much you want to achieve your goal the lack of motivation can prevent your success.

However, you don’t have to allow fear to hinder your actions and destroy your goals!  With a simple shift in perspective, you can transform fear into courage and optimism and use them to your advantage.

If you’re like most people, you’re probably used to seeing the negative side of situations.  Not only do you tend to focus more on the challenges instead of the benefits in each situation, you may also hesitate to take action because of the potential negative risks involved.

Learn to change your focus

Wanting to move forward may not provide enough incentive to overcome these fears, so you continuously hold yourself back and accomplish far less than you are actually capable of.

The key is learning to shift your focus from what you stand to lose in any challenging situation to what you stand to gain. Instead of a limiting outlook learn to see the potential benefits. It’s all about mindset. You want to focus on Developing a Mindset for success.

Hi James, while it is true that fear is usually the prime motivator for moving away from something, it is rarely the motivator for moving toward anything unless the alternative is even more fearful.
