I can relate to this after having a couple years of ill health, feeling like the body was giving up but also thinking i only feel 18 in my head. Also, i introduced my new boyfriend to my young teenage cousin the other week, and young Josh did actually say 'Nice to meet you SIR', you don't hear that often these days but it does still happen, i was well impressed :-) What a lovely insight Jonathan. We are so obsessed with physical appearance. As soon as a public persona's gets older (especially for women) they are replaced by a younger model. Even in areas like music, you now need to be able to sing and be attractive to be successful. The most important point I took away from this is your last one: see them as they really are. I cannot fathom, as I get older each year, how fast time flies!! But there are days when things take me by surprise, like when my mom said she thought an 18 yr. old actor was too young for me. I have thought about what it would be like to be in an aging body, especially when my grandmother was in the nursing home. As she got weaker and eventually, completely dependent, I thought it must be the worst torture to have your mind still intact, but trapped inside a useless body. It really made me appreciate the time that I have to do all of the things that I want to do. I know that some people plan things for retirement, but you never know what condition you will be in at that stage of life. Hopefully you will keep yourself as healthy as possible by staying active, both mentally and physically, but there are things out of our control which can alter our ability to do so. Therefore, I want to do everything I want to do as soon as possible, without waiting.
