Comment on Do You Need More Motivation? by David Morin http://advancedlifeskills.com/blog/got-motivation/#comment-77329 Thu, 06 Jul 2017 12:57:55 +0000 http://advancedlifeskills.com/blog/?p=147#comment-77329 Great advice. Maybe this is just anecdotal, but when I speak with friends about this topic, they seem to primarily focus on improving their discipline rather than increasing their motivation. I think that it’s better to find motivators (like this article suggests) rather than trying to be more disciplined, as it feels like discipline is exhaustive while motivation isn’t.

Comment on Personal Growth and the Need to Reinvent Yourself by Alpa http://advancedlifeskills.com/blog/is-it-time-to-reinvent-yourself/#comment-76918 Mon, 20 Feb 2017 17:59:27 +0000 http://advancedlifeskills.com/blog/?p=2064#comment-76918 I couldn’t agree more. Stretching oneself beyond personal limits is extremely rewarding. Yes, it implies a bit of courage, sometimes quite a lot, but the joy to expand yourself… oh, there’s nothing like it.

Comment on 30 Ways to Quickly Improve Your Life Experience by Joel http://advancedlifeskills.com/blog/30-ways-to-quickly-improve-your-life/#comment-76908 Tue, 14 Feb 2017 02:28:08 +0000 http://advancedlifeskills.com/blog/?p=1706#comment-76908 Great list Jonathan.

# 21 and 26 stood out for me for different reasons. I am always preaching to my son, “Be patient”. While he is only 18 months old, the value of this cannot be understated. In a world that rewards speed, we must learn to slow down and let things progress naturally. Some of the best inventions, speeches, and world-altering things have happened as a consequence of patience.

With #26, the gym is where I find solitude. I have been an active member of local gyms for the better part of 12 years and have found that it is within these walls that my best thoughts come forward. There is something about pushing yourself not only physically, but mentally as well.

Thanks for taking the time to make this list.

Comment on Learning to Focus on Abundance Instead of Scarcity by Joel http://advancedlifeskills.com/blog/time-to-focus-on-abundance-instead-of-scarcity/#comment-76843 Sun, 29 Jan 2017 19:55:48 +0000 http://advancedlifeskills.com/blog/?p=2565#comment-76843 The funny thing about money and abundance is when you stop focusing on the money that you don’t have and start focusing on the money that you do (ie abundance) money will show up. It may sound like pie-in-the-sky thinking but there is truth to it. Money has a funny way of making itself visible when the time comes for it. Usually, this is a result of clear, focused thinking.

If you focus on the problems that you are facing, your clutter your thoughts and prevent the solution from presenting itself.

Love the post Jonathan.

Firstly if we take the initiative it gives some kind of authority to us.However there is also the risk of rejection .
I learnt somewhere that ‘Failure is nothing but feedback’.I am curious to incorporate this point in my conversations and see how it goes.
