Awesome post!
I have been trying to change my perspective over the past year after I came to terms with the fact that I might be the one that's actually causing my own unhappiness. I am glad I stumbled upon this post since it's reassuring to see more people trying the same things as me.
This hit me hard after I watched the movie "The Secret" which covers a lot of what this post talks about. They see the world as an infinite network where people are able to pick up positive and negative thoughts/actions/habits,etc and bounce them off other people. So if you were to think negative, that thought will vibrate through this network and actually attract negative things to the person. On the other hand, thinking positively brings the person what they want and eventually happiness. This is what they call the Law of Attraction. Great movie, highly recommended!

Jonathan, so true, yet so subtle. It's so important to focus on our goals, positive imagery, and thoughts and inputs consistent with what we want. This is probably one of the best arguments for enthusiasm, realistic optimism, and gratitude that I can think of!

When walking on a slippery surface, you automatically think the thought,"I hope I don't fall and then you see yourself falling"..but I think you're right if you just look ahead to the car and imagine yourself in it looking back at the ice and thinking"I didn't fall I knew I wouldnt"You're image changes to you having been safe and instead of slipping and hurting yourself.Good article,we can use positive visualization for anything
